Quaker Hill Country Club, located 60 miles north of New York City overlooking the Harlem valley in the Dutchess county town of Pawling, was founded by legendary radio commentator and adventurer, Lowell Thomas. The scenic 9-hole course was designed by famed golf architect Robert Trent Jones, Sr. with an extra set of tees for those wishing to play 18 holes. Lowell Thomas himself drove the first ball at the club opening in 1941. This course was designed in 1935 by the firm of Thompson & Jones when RT Jones was a partner of Stanley Thompson.
